General Motors Korea is launching a pilot program, designed to put an end to the graveyard shift, at its three assembly plants this month.
The company says the program will begin next Monday and run through March 22, however the night shift won't formally end until next January.
A GM Korea official says after the pilot program, the management and labor union will need to work out details with the some 10,000 assembly workers regarding their monthly income and on how to enhance efficiency to make up for the production shortfall.■
