French police have arrested the daughter of Yoo Byung-eun, the fugitive de facto owner of the sunken Sewol ferry.
Yoo Som-na, was detained Tuesday, at her home in Paris, by police acting on an international arrest warrant issued by South Korean officials earlier this month.
The daughter Yoo had repeatedly denied summons by Korean authorities, and was being sought on suspicions of embezzlement connected to companies owned by her family.
French authorities say it may be decided as early as today, whether she should be released under judicial watch or locked up.
Prosecutors here meanwhile, say they are closing in on Yoo Byung-eun, as the search for him accelerated after the reward for information leading to his capture was increased 10-fold.■
