A U.S. radio station has reported that former President Jimmy Carter is planning to visit North Korea very soon, to win the release of a Korean-American man detained there.
Radio Free Asia told the report, adding to a Kyodo News Service report last week that Carter is considering a visit at the invitation of the North Korean government.
Kenneth Bae, a U.S. citizen, was arrested by the North Korean authorities last November, and was sentenced in April to 15 years of hard labor.■
