South Korea has protested Japan's imperial-era flag during a baseball game between the two countries on Saturday in Tokyo.
Japanese fans were seen wearing and holding the Rising Sun Flag during last night's World Baseball Softball Confederation Premier12 match.
The Korea Baseball Organization raised the issue with the baseball and softball world governing body, emphasizing the historical meaning of the flag to South Koreans.
The WBSC told the KBO that it cannot stop Japanese fans from bringing the flag to the stands.
South Korea and Japan will meet again today at 7 p.m. for the Premier12 championship game.■
