• S. Korea Reports 29 More Locally Transmitted COVID-19 Cases, 6 Imported

South Korea reported 35 additional coronavirus cases on Monday, mostly local transmissions, raising the total number of infections in the country to 10,909.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 29 of the new cases that were confirmed Sunday were domestically transmitted, while six were imported from abroad.

This comes amid concerns that the virus may be spreading in communities undetected after a man from confirmed with COVID-19 was found to have visited multiple clubs in Seoul's bustling Itaewon neighborhood in early May.

The KCDC said it was investigating more than 50 Itaewon-linked cases as the latest cluster has showns signs of spreading beyond the capital region.

Meanwhile, the national death toll remained unchanged at 256 with no related fatalities reported for the fourth straight day.

The recovery figure rose by 22 to 9,632.
