The United States has topped 25 million cases of COVID-19, the world's highest tally.
The grim milestone was reached Sunday, just five days after the country recorded 400,000 deaths from the disease, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
However, the real case count is believed to be much higher due to shaky testing at the start of the pandemic.
India, with a population about four times larger than the U.S., has the second-highest tally with about 10.6 million confirmed cases, followed by Brazil, Russia and the United Kingdom.
