The head coach for the women's national basketball team says only two to three North Korean players may be good enough to make the unified Korean team for the Asian Games in Indonesia next month.
Lee Moon-kyu made the remark to reporters before departing for Pyongyang for inter-Korean basketball friendlies.
Lee said the North Korean players have potential, expressing hope that a joint team would do well.
South Korea is the defending Asian Games champion in women's basketball, having defeated China in the gold medal match on home soil in Incheon in 2014.
The two Koreas will field joint teams in three sports at the Asian Games - women's basketball, dragon boat racing and rowing.■
