Controversy over the country's free child care Nuri program will likely to arouse again as the government and the ruling party have announced to devise a separate account to fund the program.
Opposition parties have strongly criticized the decision, arguing the subsidies should be paid by the government fund.
Special committee head on Nuri program of the Minjoo, Kim Tae-nyun(김태년) said that the relevant law should be revised for the government to cover the entire costs spent on the free child care program.
Policy committee head of the people's party, Jang Byung-wan(장병완) pointed out that the education program should be burderned by the government fund as it initially pledged to be responsible for its budget. ■
