Korean baseball team Hanhwa Eagles announced its decision to request a waiver for its Dominican pitcher Esmil Rogers due to an elbow injury.
If accepted by the Korean Baseball Organization, Hanhwa will be giving up its contract with the pitcher, leaving the option open for the player to be transferred to another team.
The Eagles' right-hander Rogers is the highest-paid foreign player in the KBO with a 1.9 million dollar salary, and has only played six games this year.
His last game was June 4th.■
