South Korean baseball star Park Byung-ho has signed with the same U.S. agency that represents his ex-teammate and current Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Kang Jung-ho in hopes of reaching the Major Leagues next year.
Park, the first baseman for the Nexen Heroes, has joined sports management agency Octagon, which has been in contact with at least two MLB clubs regarding his status.
Park, a two-time KBO MVP, is eligible to be posted for MLB after the 2015 season.
He belted 52 home runs last season, becoming only the third KBO player to reach the mark and also finished second in MVP voting.■
