Prosecutors have arrested Park Soo-hwan (박수환), the CEO of PR agency 'News Communications' in connection to suspected corruption and accounting fraud by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering.
The Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for Park, citing concerns that she might flee or destroy evidence.
Park is suspected of pocketing some 2 billion won between 2009 and 2011 in exchange for bribing politicians and business executives on behalf of Nam Sang-tae (남상태), the then president of Daewoo who pursued a second term as the CEO. ■
