Prosecutors have questioned an executive director at Samsung Group as part of their investigation into the alleged irregularites in the funding process of the Mir and K-Sports foundations.
Seoul prosecutors said the executive was grilled regarding suspicions that Choi Soon-sil collaborated with An Chong-bum to push conglomerates into offering large donations.
Samsung is the third group to be investigated over the suspicions after Lotte and SK.
The amount donated by Samsung's affiliates totaled some 20 billion won.
Investigators are also looking into allegations that the firm directly gave some 2.8 million euros to a German company owned by Choi, under the name of a consulting arrangement.■
