≡ Traffic Expected To Reach Its Peak At 4PM
Traffic has begun to pile up on the nation's highways heading back into the Seoul metropolitan region, while it is flowing relatively smoothly in the opposite direction on this third day of the four-day Lunar New Year holiday.
According to the Korea Expressway Corporation, around 4.6 million cars are expected to be on the roads today, with 480,000 of them heading back into the capital region.
Congestion on the Seoul-bound lanes is forecast to hit its peak at 4 or 5 p.m. before easing up by late tonight between 2 and 3 a.m.
As of now, the estimated drive time to Seoul from Busan is five hours 50 minutes, four hours 50 minutes from Gwangju and five hours 10 minutes from Mokpo.■
