≡ Pompeo To Visit Vietnam For Summit Feb. 26-28
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will travel to Vietnam next week for the second U.S.-North Korea summit in Hanoi.
The U.S. State Department said Pompeo will visit the Vietnamese capital from February 26th to 28th to participate in the summit and bilateral meetings with Vietnamese leaders.
The summit is slated for the 27th and the 28th.
Pompeo will also travel to the Philippines afterward to meet with President Rodrigo Duterte.■

≡ US National Security Advisor Bolton Cancels Trip To S. Korea
U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton has canceled his planned visit to South Korea ahead of the second U.S.-North Korea summit next week.
Bolton's office said that he decided not to visit Seoul to focus on events in Venezuela rattled by a power struggle between President Nicolas Maduro and opposition leader Juan Guaido.
Earlier, CNN reported that Bolton, known as a hardliner on North Korea-related issues, would visit South Korea this week for talks about the pending summit.■

≡ S. Korea's Food Prices Rise Sharply In Q4 2018 On Summer Heat
South Korea's food prices in the fourth quarter of 2018 rose at the second fastest rate among OECD nations.
Data by OECD and Statistics Korea show the country's food and non-alcoholic beverage prices increased 5.1 percent on-year during the October to December period last year.
The country posted the steepest hike behind Turkey among the 36 OECD member states.
According to the finance ministry, last year's record-breaking heat wave resulted in the price increase, especially of fruits and vegetables.■[2019.02.23]

Part-time workers in South Korea work around 17 hours a week on average and earn some 661,000 won a month.
Local job portal Albamon conducted a survey on some 3,100 people that had part-time work experience this year.
For male workers, the figure was 20.5 hours, exceeding that of female workers at 15.4.
Those in their thirties worked more than any other age group, with an average of 18.9 hours per week.
They also made the biggest money, earning some 844,000 won per month, 183,000 won more than the overall average.■
