≡ [Seoul City News] Seoul Cracks Down On Bus Idling

And now for a look at news and happenings in Seoul this week, Meeyeon Ahn reports.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is intensively cracking down on bus idling.
Drivers who leave their vehicles idling at bus garages will face fines of up to 50,000 won.
The city says all kinds of vehicles are prohibited from unnecessary idling for more than two minutes.
However, idling for up to five minutes will be permitted for days when the temperature dips below 5 degrees or above 25 degrees Celsius.

Seoul city plans to unveil its comprehensive Yeouido reconstruction plan as early as next month.
The city government said earlier it would rebuild the financial district from top to bottom to make it look like a new metropolis within the capital city.
Currently, constructing apartment buildings with more than 35 floors are forbidden in the financial district.
The city government is expected to ease the restrictions for the Yeouido reconstruction plan, enabling private companies to build high-rise apartments with shopping and leisure facilities.

Seoul city will open a new nighttime tour course along the Han River for the summer season.
The evening tour course will run at the Banpo Hangang Park every Saturday evening from 8 to 9:30 p.m. from July 28th through October 27th.
It will offer a variety of programs, including a walking tour with storytelling by guides, a water fountain show, and a photo taking event.
Up to 40 people can take part at one time free of charge and reservations can be made through the Seoul city's public service booking website from July 20th.
