≡ Turnover Rates Between Big And Small Enterprises Show Big Gap
The turnover rate between small and large companies has widened to the biggest level.
According to the labor ministry, the turnover rate of workers at companies with less than 300 employees rose to 5 percent last year, the highest since 2012.
Among them, 54 percent was involuntary resignations, compared to 40 percent that was voluntary.
Meanwhile, the turnover rate of large corporations fell to 2.8 percent during the same period, the lowest level since 2010 when the country began compiling related data.
The rising turnover rate at SMEs could be attributed to relatively low pay and unfavorable conditions such as long working hours.■[2018.03.25]
