Liberty Korea Party Rep. Won Yoo-chul has been indicted without detention on bribery charges.
The main opposition party lawmaker is suspected of receiving kickbacks worth hundreds of millions of won from companies in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province in return for special favors.
Two of Won's aides and the head of construction company believed to be involved in the corruption were also indicted without detention.■

≡ Ticket Scanner Malfunction Delays Flight From Incheon Airport's New Terminal
A boarding pass scanner malfunction at Incheon International Airport's newly opened second terminal delayed a flight bound for Hong Kong this morning.
According to airport officials, the Korean Air flight was scheduled to depart at 8:25 this morning but was delayed for some 53 minutes.
Due to the problem, airline staff had to check tickets manually.■

≡ Court Orders Homeplus To Pay Customers For Data Leak
South Korean retail chain Homeplus has been ordered to pay its customers over 83 million won in damages for selling their personal information to two life insurance companies without consent.
The Seoul Central District Court handed down the ruling today partially in favor of some 1,000 Homeplus membership customers who filed the lawsuit.
It also ordered the two insurers -- LINA Life Insurance Korea and Shinhan Life Insurance -- to burden some of the payouts but dismissed the argument that they had aided and abetted the illegal act.
The customers filed a litigation in 2015 claiming that Homeplus sold off over 24 million pieces of private information collected through promotional events between 2001 and 2014.■
